President Josipović meets chairman of EU Military Committee (HINA)
President Ivo Josipovic met the chairman of the European Union Military Committee, General Hakan Syren of Sweden.
The committee chaired by General Syren is the EU's highest joint military body and is made up of the member-countries' army chiefs-of-staff. Its main task is to advise the EU's political structures on military matters.
President Josipovic and Syren discussed Croatia's foreign policy, its contribution to the preservation of peace and role in UN, NATO and EU missions, as well as cooperation following Croatia's admission to the EU.
They agreed that Croatia's EU accession talks were moving in the right direction, and that Croatia was already contributing to the EU's security and defence policy as a candidate country.
