President Ivo Josipovic received Vivian Reding, vice president of the European Commission and commissioner for the judiciary, fundamental rights and citizenship.
President Josipovic briefed Reding about Croatia's progress in reforms related to the Judiciary and Fundamental Rights policy chapter in its accession negotiations with the European Union, with emphasis on judicial reform and war crimes trials.
Reding said the European Commission supported Croatia's strong efforts in dealing with such demanding and delicate tasks, the press release said, adding that she and President Josipovic underlined the importance of launching an intensive and objective information campaign about the meaning of joining the EU.
