Croatian President Ivo Josipovic  spoke over the phone with the newly elected French President Francois Hollande, ahead of his inauguration scheduled for tomorrow, and congratulated him on winning the election.
President Josipovic said he had followed with great interest ideas concerning Europe's future which Hollande presented during the election campaign.
Thanking him for the words of congratulations, the new President of France underlined very good relations between Croatia and France and interest in promoting cooperation in the Mediterranean.
On the occasion of marking the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Croatia and France, the two officials agreed to open together a cultural event called "Croatia's Festival in France" scheduled to be held in Paris this fall.
Hollande said France planned to ratify Croatia's Treaty of Accession with the EU by the year's end.
The inauguration of the new French president, who defeated former President Nicolas Sarkozy in the presidential run-off, is scheduled for Tuesday.
