Croatian President Stjepan Mesić received Gediminas Kirkilas, Prime Minister of Republic of Lithuania.
Lithuanian Prime Minister congratulated Croatian President on the invitation to join the NATO Alliance that Croatia received at the NATO summit in Bucharest earlier this month emphasizing that Lithuania will continue to support Croatia's efforts to join the NATO and the EU.
Thanking for the support, President Mesić expressed hope that this visit will give an impetus to further enhancement of bilateral relations.
Both President Mesić and Prime Minister Kirkilas stressed the good cooperation of Croatian and Lithuanian soldiers who participate in the UN mission in Afghanistan.
