President Mesić meets Slovak Parliament Speaker

Croatian President Stjepan Mesic met with Slovak Parliament Speaker Pavol Paska on the northern Adriatic archipelago of Brijuni on Sunday, the Office of the President said in a statement. Slovakia has always supported Croatia's admission to the European Union and it supports Croatia's completing its accession talks as soon as possible, the Slovak official said at the talks.
Paska thanked Croatian authorities for their help in last year's bus accident which occurred in Croatia and in which a large number of Slovak tourists were killed or injured. He added that despite the current crisis, this year had seen an increase in the number of Slovak tourists vacationing in Croatia.
President Mesic informed his guest about the situation in Southeast Europe, underlining the importance of advancing the very good political relations by improving economic cooperation, notably in the energy industry.
