On Saturday, the last day of his official visit to Italy, Croatian President Stjepan Mesic conferred by telephone with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who said there should be no more delays with Croatia's admission to the European Union.
According to a press release from the Office of the Croatian President, Mesic thanked Berlusconi for Italy's support to Croatia on its path to EU membership and informed him about his talks with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano and his visit to the Croatian minority in Molise.
Berlusconi said he hoped to meet with Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor as soon as possible.
