{"id":10165,"date":"2021-05-28T18:42:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-28T16:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=10165"},"modified":"2021-05-31T11:45:44","modified_gmt":"2021-05-31T09:45:44","slug":"president-milanovic-the-croatian-army-emanates-from-the-croatian-people-and-is-one-of-croatias-foundations","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/en\/news\/president-milanovic-the-croatian-army-emanates-from-the-croatian-people-and-is-one-of-croatias-foundations\/","title":{"rendered":"President Milanovi\u0107: The Croatian Army emanates from the Croatian people and is one of Croatia\u2019s foundations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanovi\u0107 attended a ceremony at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, held on the occasion of Croatian Armed Forces Day, Croatian Army Day and the 30<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the formation of the Croatian National Guard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Promotions, medals, commendations and awards were presented to the members of the armed forces at the ceremony marking Croatian Armed Forces Day, Croatian Army Day and the 30<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the formation of the Croatian National Guard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\u201cI would like to especially address those of you who are being promoted to higher ranks today and who have been awarded,\u201d said President Milanovi\u0107 in his address, congratulating the members for receiving awards and promotions on the 30<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the Croatian Army. \u201cIt is usually said on such occasions, but not without reason, that this rewards and obliges at the same time, especially those who have been promoted or will be promoted to the rank of colonel in the Croatian Army,\u201d the President said. He added that this is a special honour, a high rank that should be viewed in such a way, while building ambitions and aiming higher based on this. \u201cBe fair and professional, because that\u2019s how you earned your ranks \u2013 by work, commitment and knowledge,\u201d President Milanovi\u0107 told the soldiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The President of the Republic commented on the creation of the Croatian state and army, emphasizing that in recent history no European state or nation had experienced what Croatia had experienced recently.
