The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 attended the formal session marking the 75th<\/sup> anniversary of the Croatian Association of the Blind at Vidra theatre. Subsequently, he took questions from reporters including vaccination and the relaxation of restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things are slowly getting back to normal, not too quickly, but from day to day. I think that\u2019s fine, people are getting vaccinated, President Milanovi\u0107 said. He also commented on the work of the COVID-19 response team: \u201cHad I formed the response team, besides the Health Minister probably no one else would be a card-carrying member. This is an issue of confidence because too often we\u2019ve seen that the response team synchronized its decisions with the HDZ leadership and Plenkovi\u0107, which suited them. It was plain to see even for a child, and this shouldn\u2019t be done because it\u2019s intruding on fundamental civil liberties, not rights. It was done in a way in which it should never be done anymore. Ultimately, Croatia has 2000 deaths on one million inhabitants, which puts it at the top\u201d, President Milanovi\u0107 said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe persons that are vaccinated are better protected, however as long as part of the population is not vaccinated, the virus has an environment in which it spreads. Unfortunately, today everyone is an expert. I can only call on people to get the vaccine. Currently there are more vaccines than ever before. Some people are watching, observing, analyzing to see what will happen to those who got vaccinated\u201d, President Milanovi\u0107 told reporters when talking about the rights of vaccinated citizens and those who aren\u2019t vaccinated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He commented on the fact that Prime Minister Plenkovi\u0107 isn\u2019t responding to him. \u201cAs long as he keeps quiet, my life is more pleasant. I see that he\u2019s sending his associates to me. Fine, but at least send lions, not poodles. That\u2019s a transparent childish tactic\u201d, President Milanovi\u0107 replied, and repeated that he busies himself with matters that are in his power. \u201cI led a delegation to the NATO summit. Asked who\u2019s behind this, he repeated: \u201cA whole series of Western states, but not on the high level. The mice would like to play. They can\u2019t get Angela Merkel\u2019s attention regarding relations between Kom\u0161i\u0107 and Dodik. Indeed, her stance is much closer to ours. But there\u2019s a whole series of people in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin that unfortunately belong to my former political option who are experimenting, they want to create a utopia of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Herzegovina is a state of three nations\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The director of the Military Security and Intelligence Agency (VSOA) has my confidence\u201d, the President answered when asked if he has his confidence after it was revealed that there were some irregularities in the work of the Agency. \u201cWhen talking about the Military Security and Intelligence Agency, we should take into account that these are military people not civilians, not journalists, not teachers, therefore the subjects of their work and processing are military people. I won\u2019t comment any further, I don\u2019t believe anyone until there\u2019s proof.
