The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 received in his Office a delegation of the town of Popova\u010da comprising Mayor Josip Mi\u0161kovi\u0107, Deputy Mayor Lovro Miklau\u017ei\u0107, President of the Town Council Sa\u0161a Jagar\u010dec, Head of the Administrative Department for Budget and General Administration Ivona Pu\u0161i\u0107, Head of the Administrative Department for the Communal System and Spatial Planning Ivka Nikoli\u0107 Je\u017e and Head of the Office for Social Services Sandra Horvat D\u017eelalija.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayor Mi\u0161kovi\u0107 acquainted President Milanovi\u0107 with the town\u2019s development plans, which are aimed at further improving living conditions for its residents. He focused on the problems that many small local self-government units, such as Popova\u010da, are facing, and singled out the use of state property, in particular, as one of the main issues. It was also mentioned at the meeting that Croatian entrepreneurs are interested in investing and starting production in Popova\u010da, but in order to achieve that it would be necessary to obtain additional parcels of land and expand the business zone, for which the town would need to establish cooperation with the state authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The development of agritourism in Popova\u010da and Moslavina was also discussed at the meeting, in which the municipal authorities are interested, and in this context it was pointed out that there are already some 300 family-owned farms in the Popova\u010da area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participating in the meeting alongside President Milanovi\u0107 was Adviser to the President of the Republic for Human Rights and Civil Society Melita Muli\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
