The bust was unveiled by Jelena \u017dupi\u0107, the daughter of academic sculptor Ante \u017dupi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An association of Zagreb residents originating from Sinj launched the initiative to erect the sculpture of Ante \u017dupi\u0107 on the occasion of marking the 50<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of <em>Matica hrvatska<\/em> and the Croatian Spring movement, which received the approval of the Sinj Town Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his address at the unveiling ceremony, President Milanovi\u0107 extended his greetings to the residents of Sinj and everyone present, emphasizing that the Sinj area is very dear to him and that he eagerly looked forward to being there today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI heard about Ante \u017dupi\u0107 from my father a couple of times, but that was a long time ago. I will not talk here about the work and opus of professor Ante \u017dupi\u0107, because I actually know very little about it and only since recently. Ante \u017dupi\u0107 was a typical creation of this area. I suppose that professor Ante \u017dupi\u0107 had to work hard and earn everything in life, like his children. This town and this frontier have added flavour to my entire life since childhood. The Sinj area is objectively different.
