{"id":14110,"date":"2021-11-24T14:50:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-24T13:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=14110"},"modified":"2021-11-25T13:52:52","modified_gmt":"2021-11-25T12:52:52","slug":"president-milanovic-meets-with-representatives-of-veterans-association-of-underage-homeland-war-volunteer-fighters","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/en\/news\/president-milanovic-meets-with-representatives-of-veterans-association-of-underage-homeland-war-volunteer-fighters\/","title":{"rendered":"President Milanovi\u0107 Meets with Representatives of Veterans\u2019 Association of Underage Homeland War Volunteer Fighters"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 met today in the Office of the President with representatives of the Veterans\u2019 Association of Underage Homeland War Volunteer Fighters of Croatia, an association actively working on projects to provide psychosocial assistance to Croatian defenders and the members of their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The representatives of the Association explained that the project of providing psychosocial assistance is carried out in cooperation with the Minister of Croatian Veterans and Osijek-Baranja County, and underlined that the project of psychosocial empowerment includes field, group and individual counselling with the engagement of professionals having a longstanding experience of working with defenders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main problem of the underage volunteer fighters, Croatian defenders, is the fact that the underage defenders have not been recognized as a category of Croatian defenders in the \u201cZakon o pravima hrvatskih branitelja iz Domovinskog rata i \u010dlanova njihovih obitelji\u201d (Law on the Rights of Croatian Defenders from the Homeland War and their Family Members), while at the same time they have been recognized in the \u201cPravilnik o utvr\u0111ivanju postotka o\u0161te\u0107enja organizma HRVI iz Domovinskog rata\u201d (Regulations on Evaluating the Percentage of Bodily Injuries of Disabled Homeland War Veterans). There was also talk of the possibility of bestowing the Homeland War Memorial Medal upon those participants who have resolved their defender\/volunteer status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the meeting with President Milanovi\u0107 were Association president Dra\u017een Jurmanovi\u0107, adviser Morisa Miki\u0107 and members Dean Mostina, Danijela Lali\u0107 and Robert Vorgi\u0107.
