The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanovi\u0107 attended the 30th<\/sup> anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Croatian Air Force, where he told those present that this year marks a major milestone for the Croatian Air Force, whose beginnings were in unthinkable and dangerous conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony kicked off with the film \u201c30. godina HRZ-a\u201d [30th<\/sup> year of the Croatian Air Force], which President Milanovi\u0107 described as a beautiful, emotional and touching film that features the path of development of the Croatian Air Force and foretells its bright future. \u201cThis is a major year and it just so happened that on the 30th<\/sup> anniversary Croatia is procuring something new, big and significant. It is not the time for any quarrels; what is happening is a good thing. Croatia should acquire (fighter jets). Croatia must and can pay for them. This is a matter of our security and this is also a matter of our prestige. Let others deal with the details. If you ask me, the matter is resolved,\u201d said President Milanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President concluded that the procurement of new military equipment has nothing to do with \u201cthe balance of power in the region, flexing muscles or showing who is stronger.\u201d On the contrary, President Milanovi\u0107 explained that this is about providing soldiers with the best equipment and about putting their safety first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the 30th<\/sup> anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Croatian Air Force, which was held in the \u201cPukovnik Marko \u017divkovi\u0107\u201d Barracks, President Milanovi\u0107 presented decorations, certificates of promotion and commendations to members of the Croatian Air Force. The Aeronautical Technical Maintenance and Supply Centre was decorated with the Order of the Croatian Trefoil for extraordinary services to the Republic of Croatia in a state of war, in an immediate threat of war and under special circumstances in peace. Likewise, the Order of the Croatian Trefoil was presented to Colonel Slaven Pedi\u0107 and Lieutenant Colonel \u017deljko Maljak for extraordinary services to the Republic of Croatia in a state of war, in an immediate threat of war and under special circumstances in peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For extraordinary contributions to the development and the reputation of the Republic of Croatia, as well as to the welfare of its citizens, the Order of the Croatian Interlace was bestowed upon Colonel Sa\u0161a Crnec, Colonel Ivica Mandu\u0161i\u0107, Colonel Rudolf Lovrakovi\u0107, Lieutenant Colonel Sre\u0107ko Stip\u010di\u0107, Lieutenant Colonel Stjepan Stepi\u0107, Major Sa\u0161a Turk and Master Sergeant Franko Peraga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces presented certificates of promotion to active duty officers of the Croatian Armed Forces. Lieutenant Colonel Dragan Andrijevi\u0107 was promoted to the rank of Colonel, Major Mario Brajkovi\u0107, Major Darko Ku\u010dej, Major Eduard Perkovi\u0107, Major Roland Raji\u0107 and Major Sa\u0161a Turk were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Major Denis Gospi\u0107 was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel; Major Boris Buterin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel; Major Ana Topi\u0107 was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel; Captain Nino Gakovi\u0107, Captain Miroslav Karaula and Captain Juraj Kova\u010devi\u0107 were promoted to the rank of Major. Captain Tomislav Ciglec and Captain Krunoslav Gori\u010danac were promoted to the rank of Major. Captain Grozdana Mitrovi\u0107 was promoted to the rank of Major. Captain Ivan Damjanovi\u0107 and Captain Ivan Perkovi\u0107 were promoted to the rank of Major.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, Captain Zoran Bogdanovi\u0107 and Captain Dra\u017een Sremi\u0107 were promoted to the rank of Major; Captain Marina \u010curkovi\u0107 and Captain Ivanka Milovac were promoted to the rank of Major; First Lieutenant \u0160ime Ali\u0107, First Lieutenant Marko Bo\u017ei\u0107 and First Lieutenant Martin Debu\u0161 were promoted to the rank of Captain; First Lieutenant Mario Bosanac and First Lieutenant Deni Dugand\u017ei\u0107 were promoted to the rank of Captain; First Lieutenant Vedran Rozi\u0107 was promoted to the rank of Captain; Second Lieutenant Robert Dovijani\u0107 was promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant; Second Lieutenant Katarina Mari\u0107 was promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant; Second Lieutenant Sa\u0161a Pelc was promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant; Second Lieutenant Toni Zdrili\u0107 was promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion of the official ceremony marking Croatian Air Force Day, Major Kre\u0161imir Matan received a commendation for successfully completing a mission and for achieving above-average results in fulfilling his duties.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adviser to the President of the Republic for Defense and National Security Dragan Lozan\u010di\u0107 and Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Homeland War Veterans Marijan Marekovi\u0107 were alongside President Milanovi\u0107 at the ceremony marking Croatian Air Force Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
