The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 received today at the Office of the President students who are members of the specialised student association Financial Club, who presented their project entitled \u201cSimply about the euro.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project \u201cSimply about the euro\u201d was implemented from October 2019 to April 2021 and is the first Croatian project dedicated to the introduction of the euro that was launched by students with the aim of educating students and the general public about the introduction of the euro in Croatia. The goal of the project was to explain in a simple and understandable way all the uncertainties related to the introduction of the euro, the association members explained at the meeting. As part of the project, research articles about the effects of joining the Eurozone were published and panel discussions and other activities were held on the subject, for which the project received the Rector\u2019s Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students presented their association to President Milanovi\u0107, mentioning that the Financial Club was founded at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Economics and Business in 2005 as a specialised student association. Apart from the project \u201cSimply about the euro,\u201d the students explained, the Financial Club has launched a number of other programmes in recent years aimed at increasing financial literacy in Croatia, especially among young people, including financial literacy educational programmes in many Zagreb schools. During the fruitful discussion he had with members of the Financial Club, President Milanovi\u0107 expressed his support for the concept and the group\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Financial Club has received over thirty Dean\u2019s and Rector\u2019s awards for various projects and conferences. In 2013 it won the Zagreb Stock Exchange Award for outstanding contributions to capital markets education. Attending the meeting at the Office of the President were the association\u2019s Coordinator Eva \u0160oi\u0107, Supervisory Board member Frane Bani\u0107 and association members Luka Sovulj, Filip Badovinac, Doris Beli\u0107, Kristina Ivan\u010di\u0107, Luka Toma\u0161i\u0107 and Ante Obradovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for the Economy Velibor Ma\u010dki\u0107 and Assistant Adviser to the President of the Republic for the Economy Martina Ciglevi\u0107 were at the meeting alongside President Milanovi\u0107.     <\/p>\n\n\n\n
