{"id":16260,"date":"2022-04-05T14:49:34","date_gmt":"2022-04-05T12:49:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=16260"},"modified":"2022-04-05T14:49:37","modified_gmt":"2022-04-05T12:49:37","slug":"president-milanovic-receives-association-of-162nd-brigade-zrin-petrinja-delegation","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/en\/news\/president-milanovic-receives-association-of-162nd-brigade-zrin-petrinja-delegation\/","title":{"rendered":"President Milanovi\u0107 Receives Association of 162nd Brigade \u201cZrin\u201d Petrinja Delegation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 today received a delegation of the Association of the 162<sup>nd<\/sup> Brigade \u201cZrin\u201c \u2013 Petrinja on the occasion of the 30<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of their foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Association\u2019s representatives recounted the unit\u2019s service and deployment history to President Milanovi\u0107, explaining that it was relatively short, yet successful. The Brigade evolved from a restructuring or merging of existing units on the Petrinja battlefield on 1 April 1992, and in its seven months\u2019 existence, it was tasked to defend the area along the Kupa river\u2019s right bank. The Brigade included 2,189 members, both women and men, and as a rule local people, displaced persons from Petrinja, Glina and Topusko reinforced the defense of the territory assigned to them, defending it until the arrival of UN peacekeeping forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the meeting they also discussed the activities of the Association, one of the oldest associations of defenders that has been active since 1992, and today has more than 230 members.
