{"id":16979,"date":"2022-05-04T14:20:56","date_gmt":"2022-05-04T12:20:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=16979"},"modified":"2022-05-04T14:20:58","modified_gmt":"2022-05-04T12:20:58","slug":"president-milanovic-meets-with-representatives-of-autism-organizations","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/en\/news\/president-milanovic-meets-with-representatives-of-autism-organizations\/","title":{"rendered":"President Milanovi\u0107 Meets with Representatives of Autism Organizations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 received today in the Office of the President representatives of associations that promote the status and quality of living, and provide assistance to persons with autism spectrum disorder: the \u201cSavez udruga za autizam Hrvatske\u201d (Federation of Autism Associations Croatia) and the \u201cUdruga za autizam \u2013 Zagreb\u201d (Autism Association \u2013 Zagreb).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representatives of the Federation of Autism Associations Croatia, president of the organization Lidija Penko and programme coordinator Nikola Tadi\u0107 acquainted President Milanovi\u0107 with the Federation noting that it is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that acts in the area of autism on the entire territory of Croatia. In terms of their activities, they underlined advising, educating and providing support to families of persons with autism and representing the needs of children, youth and adults with autism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also in attendance at the meeting in the Office of the President were representatives of the Autism Association \u2013 Zagreb, namely Association president Igor Ru\u017ei\u0107, Association member Dina Mimica Uro\u0161evi\u0107 and outpatient in the Association\u2019s Daily programme, an adolescent with autism spectrum disorder Lukas Uro\u0161evi\u0107. The Autism Association \u2013 Zagreb is celebrating its 25<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary this year, and is the first association for parents in the Republic of Croatia providing extra-institutional type of care for adults with autism spectrum disorder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this respect they noted that their programmes help prevent the institutionalization of persons with autism spectrum disorder. The Association implements its most important programmes whereby it strives to contribute to the process of deinstitutionalization, development and expansion of social service networks and improve their quality and accessibility to persons with autism spectrum disorder in the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County.
