{"id":17088,"date":"2022-05-09T15:32:25","date_gmt":"2022-05-09T13:32:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=17088"},"modified":"2022-05-09T15:32:27","modified_gmt":"2022-05-09T13:32:27","slug":"president-milanovic-meets-with-livno-community-zagreb-delegation","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/en\/news\/president-milanovic-meets-with-livno-community-zagreb-delegation\/","title":{"rendered":"President Milanovi\u0107 Meets with Livno Community Zagreb Delegation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 received today at the Office of the President a delegation of Livno Community Zagreb, an association of citizens and businesspeople that brings together individuals originating from the town of Livno, as well as friends of Livno, while also serving to protect and promote the historical, cultural, economic and environmental values of the Livno region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Livno Community Zagreb delegation informed President Milanovi\u0107 at the meeting about the group\u2019s beginnings, when its activities were limited and inhibited by the war in Croatia and subsequently Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was, namely, reflected in the formation of the Volunteer Independent Battalion for the defence of Livno in 1992, when Livno Community Zagreb provided logistical support and assistance to Homeland War victims. After the war, the focus of the association\u2019s work shifted towards cultural activities and protecting traditional and historical values of the Livno region, and efforts aimed at creating foundations for the economic development of the Livno region, it was said at the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the meeting with President Milanovi\u0107, the current political and economic position of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina was also discussed, with emphasis put on the need to protect the rights of BiH Croats as a constituent people. Representatives of Livno Community Zagreb were interested in learning what Croatia can do to help BiH Croats achieve their rights, which would make it easier for them to stay in the country.
