At the start of the new school year, the President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 received pupils from the Fifteenth Gymnasium in Zagreb, and congratulated them on their achievements in international competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Office of the President of the Republic were pupils who took part in the 29th<\/sup> Central European Olympiad in Informatics \u2013 CEOI 2022, which was held from 24 to 20 July 2022 in Vara\u017edin under the auspices of the President of the Republic. At the meeting with President Milanovi\u0107 were gold medal winners Dorijan Lendvaj and Patrick Pavi\u0107, bronze medal winners Marko Dor\u010di\u0107 and Fran Babi\u0107, Olympiad participant Ivan Janji\u0107 as well as the Fifteenth Gymnasium principal and CEOI 2022 programme coordinator Nikola Dmitrovi\u0107 and the president of the CEOI 2022 Scientific Committee Ivan Paljak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the Olympiad in Informatics team at the meeting with President Milanovi\u0107 were pupils of the Fifteenth Gymnasium who participated in international knowledge olympiads in biology, physics, math and geography and equivalent international competitions in robotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those are participants of the 34th<\/sup> International Olympiad in Informatics – IOI 2022, Indonesia (online in the Fifteenth Gymnasium), gold medal winners Dorijan Lendvaj and Patrick Pavi\u0107, bronze medal winner Matej Vojvodi\u0107 and honourable mention Ivan Janji\u0107; participants of the 18th<\/sup> International Geography Olympiad – 2022 iGeo \u2013 Paris (online at Faculty of Science) silver medal winner Luka Protulipac and bronze medal winner Andrej Nik\u0161i\u0107; participants of the 63rd<\/sup> International Mathematical Olympiad \u2013 IMO 2022 \u2013 Oslo, silver medal winner Bernard Inkret, bronze medal winner Namik Agi\u0107, Patrick Pavi\u0107  and Janko Bu\u0161eli\u0107 and honourable mention Dorijan Lendvaj; bronze medal winner at the 52nd<\/sup> International Physics Olympiad \u2013 IPHO 2022 – Switzerland (online at Faculty of Science) Roko \u0160upe; participants in the 33rd<\/sup> International Biology Olympiad\u2013 IBO \u2013 2022 Yerevan, bronze medal winner Barbara Jozi\u0107 and Olympiad participants Adrian Grbac Lackovi\u0107 and Suzana \u0160krabalo; including a team of pupils that won third place in the RoboCup 2022 competition \u2013 Bangkok Antonio Dijani\u0107, Dora Dijani\u0107, Ivan Dijani\u0107 and Borut Pat\u010dev.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Olympiad teams were instructed by mentors from the Faculty of Science in Zagreb Matija Ba\u0161i\u0107, and Andreja Luci\u0107, and one of the mentors of the robotics teams and member of the Fifteenth Gymnasium School Council Lovrek Dijani\u0107, who also attended the meeting with President Milanovi\u0107. President Milanovi\u0107 congratulated the pupils on their achievements and told them they are doing something great for Croatia, even though it is a small country, it proves that it can be competitive in knowledge. At the meeting they also discussed the importance of holding in-person classes. The principal of the Fifteenth Gymnasium said that \u201cnothing can replace in-person classes, which was demonstrated by the results of preparations for the competitions that were held in-person with greater motivation\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the meeting the participants of the 2022 RoboCup presented their award-winning robots to President Milanovi\u0107 and proudly announced that the European competition in robots will be held for the first time in Croatia, which is further proof that Croatian pupils are competitive in robotics even today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside President Milanovi\u0107 was the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Education Jadranka \u017darkovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
