Adam Smith, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the meeting in the Office of the President of the Republic, satisfaction was expressed with the friendly relations between the two countries, the Republic of Croatia and the United States of America, who are also NATO allies. It was emphasized that Croatia attaches great importance to defense cooperation with the United States and that it appreciates American support in the further development of the Croatian Armed Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The security situation in Europe\u2019s eastern flank was discussed during the meeting, particularly in the context of Russia\u2019s aggression against Ukraine, and concern was expressed over the possible serious consequences of this crisis. The interlocutors exchanged views on the situation in Southeast Europe, energy and global challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, the Congressional delegation was composed of Rep. Doug Lamborn from Colorado, Rep. Jim Cooper from Tennessee, Rep. Ed Perlmutter from Colorado, Rep. Veronica Escobar from Texas, Rep.
