{"id":20348,"date":"2022-11-25T13:14:44","date_gmt":"2022-11-25T12:14:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=20348"},"modified":"2022-11-25T13:26:58","modified_gmt":"2022-11-25T12:26:58","slug":"president-milanovic-meets-with-representatives-of-croatian-association-for-cancer-research","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/en\/news\/president-milanovic-meets-with-representatives-of-croatian-association-for-cancer-research\/","title":{"rendered":"President Milanovi\u0107 Meets with Representatives of Croatian Association for Cancer Research"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 met today with representatives of the Croatian Association for Cancer Research, which brings together researchers and professionals who are active in medicine, biology, biochemistry and other scientific areas relevant in the field of cancer treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The delegation, headed by Association President Dr. Sonja Levanat, informed President Milanovi\u0107 at the meeting in the Office of the President about the Association\u2019s activities, which include a recently held conference. Namely, since 2010 they have organized a biennial conference with international participation, with the aim of connecting clinical and basic research and creating stronger ties among institutions and employees. To date, six conferences and one symposium with leading international lecturers were organized, and several workshops with numerous lectures were held. The high attendance at these events has proven to be extremely important for Croatian science and biomedicine, as they facilitate stronger ties between researchers and physicians, all with the aim of making better and more successful cancer treatment possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members of the Association also discussed with President Milanovi\u0107 new findings in the field of cancer treatment, highlighting that new generations of medicines are the main focus of scientific discussion. In this regard, they pointed out the problems and challenges they face, which concern the issues of drug resistance and side effects of new generations of medicines.
