\u201cI\u2019ve been coming to the Ple\u0161ivica region for close to twenty years. Since 2005 wine producing here has made great strides in terms of the quality of the wine, the storage of the wine and wine cellars. I don\u2019t think we can talk of classic wine exports because everything is sold in Croatia, a large part is sold in Croatia through tourism, and that\u2019s a good concept\u201d the President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 stated today at the traditional \u201cDiplomatic grape harvest\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As host, President Milanovi\u0107 participated in the traditional \u201cDiplomatic grape harvest\u201d organized for the heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to the Republic of Croatia. The organizer of the grape harvest is the Town of Jastrebarsko, and the eighth edition of the \u201cDiplomatic grape harvest\u201d was held in the Kolari\u0107 family vineyard in the hills of Ple\u0161ivica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The diplomats accredited to the Republic of Croatia were also greeted by the Mayor of the Town of Jastrebarsko Zvonimir Novosel, who noted that with the \u201cDiplomatic grape harvest\u201d they are striving to showcase the quality of the wines that Jaska and Ple\u0161ivica can boast of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFranjo Kolari\u0107 is a member of the younger generation of winemakers who has made a breakthrough in wine production and in the market business. The path he has crossed from his beginnings to the present day was by no means easy. Today, Franjo is one of the most successful winemakers in Jaska and one of those who has enhanced the wine industry in Croatia\u201d, the Mayor of Jaska stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYears of hard work and sacrifices are behind us, we were able to succeed together as a family. There are 26 grape harvests to my name, and one of them is underway. At the moment we are cultivating eight hectares of our own vineyards in cooperation with ten other families. Our wish and our plan are to expand the area of our vineyards for the benefit of our families as well as the entire region of Sveta Jana, Ple\u0161ivica and Jastrebarsko\u201d, Franjo Kolari\u0107, the owner of the winery stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
