They discussed the longstanding&nbsp;cooperation between the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Republic of Croatia, which has regularly participated&nbsp;in financing the ICRC&#8217;s humanitarian activity. The meeting also addressed the ICRC\u2019s humanitarian activity in hotspots around the world that are a result of natural disasters, weather related disasters and wars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mirjana \u0160poljari\u0107 Egger, a Swiss diplomat born in Croatia, was elected president of the ICRC in October 2022 and is the first woman elected to lead this important world humanitarian organization. Croatia has been cooperating with the International Committee of the Red Cross since 1991.
