The book is a comprehensive biography of Vjekoslav \u0160afrani\u0107, a Croatian sports legend and pioneer in karate, as well as the first mixed martial arts star in the region. \u0160afrani\u0107, an accomplished athlete who received numerous awards, is also a coach and sports official currently serving as the President of the Sports Association of the City of Zagreb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The book seamlessly weaves together the various facets of \u0160afrani\u0107\u2019s journey, encompassing his early years in Hra\u0161\u0107e near Buzin, remarkable achievements in sports, successful business career, and his present role as the President of the Sports Association of the City of Zagreb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking about Vjekoslav \u0160afrani\u0107 at the book promotion were the State Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Sports Tomislav Dru\u017eak, former Minister of the Interior and Deputy Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, and former President of the Croatian Karate Union, Ivan Jarnjak, former Croatian basketball player Andro Knego, former President of the Croatian Karate Union and \u0160afrani\u0107\u2019s coach Berislav Jandri\u0107, former national team member and former Yugoslavia\u2019s multiple karate champion Zdenko Protu\u0111er, President of the Croatian Karate Union Davor Cipek and the President of the Croatian Kickboxing Federation Tomislav Biland\u017ei\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The book about \u0160afrani\u0107 was in fact started by Marija Magdi\u0107, the mother of the book\u2019s author and well-known Croatian Radio journalist Lovorko Magdi\u0107, who completed the book together with Josip Maras.
