The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 met today with a delegation from the Association for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Trans, Intersex and Gender Variant Persons (TIGV) KolekTIRV. The delegation included Executive Coordinator Diana Avdi\u0107 and Advocacy Team Coordinator Nike Doktor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Association, founded in February 2012, was introduced to the President during the meeting, whose goal is bolstering the TIGV community by enhancing the visibility of TIGV topics and the community itself, while also advocating for and safeguarding the rights of TIGV individuals. It was mentioned during the meeting that until 2021, the Association operated under the name Trans Aid. Subsequently, in an effort to underscore the diversity within the community whose rights they champion, it rebranded itself as KolekTIRV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The representatives of the KolekTIRV Association informed President Milanovi\u0107 of their latest campaign, \u201cI am like you,\u201d which aims to highlight both the commonalities among people and the unique challenges faced by trans and gender diverse individuals on a daily basis. This campaign marks the first of its kind in Croatia, and through it, the organization endeavours to shed light on the needs and issues affecting trans and gender diverse individuals. In particular, the campaign emphasizes the right to easy access to healthcare services and a life free from discrimination, as conveyed to President Milanovi\u0107 by the coordinators of the Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Milanovi\u0107 was accompanied at the meeting by Melita Muli\u0107, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Human Rights and Civil Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
