The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 spent the day in Split where, in the company of the mayor of Split Ivica Puljak, deputy mayors Bojan Ivo\u0161evi\u0107 and Antonia Kuzmani\u0107 and the chairman of Split City Council \u017deljko Domazet, he toured the Dra\u010devac Technology Park, the construction site of the sports & recreational zone of \u017dnjan beach and the renovated Old City Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe set out this morning from the Technology Park in Split, an investment by the city government with its own money and mostly European funds. HDZ was unable to prevent this, although they are doing everything they can to ruin everything, including \u017dnjan. They couldn\u2019t prevent the construction of Dra\u010devac Technology Park, it is an impressive building. I haven\u2019t seen anything like this in Croatia, and all of this for less than 30 million euros. That is four times less than the money HDZ stole in the gas affair, therefore four such technology development parks, like the Split one, could have been constructed in every major Croatian city with that money. I congratulate the mayor for succeeding \u2013 in spite of obstructions and villainous resistance of a political party with a criminal conviction from a Croatian court, a party that hasn\u2019t got certificate of good conduct unlike all other political parties \u2013 and for his determined fight for freedom\u201d, President Milanovi\u0107 stated after the tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The strategic project of Dra\u010devac Technology Park in Split has been under development since 2018, and President Milanovi\u0107 toured the main building of the future technology park, whose construction represents the first phase of the project. Equipping with furniture and multimedia equipment is underway for this project to be ready for use and for the first tenants to move in in April. The goal of Dra\u010devac Technology Park is to create infrastructure prerequisites for the development and improvement of business start-ups and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in the area of the Split urban agglomeration, focused primarily on high technologies and innovations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following a tour of Dra\u010devac Technology Park, President Milanovi\u0107 toured Split\u2019s largest construction site \u017dnanj. \u017dnanj plateau is one of the largest unused potentials of the city of Split, and with its landscaping, besides catering facilities, the sports & recreational and horticultural zones will finally be purposefully solved and the quality of life in the city will be enhanced, the city of Split officials statedduring the tour. Landscaping work of the coastal zone is scheduled in phases, and the first construction permits have been issued for the coastal promenade (Lungomare) with infrastructure and landscaping of beach areas with amenities and for three pavilions with substation, underground garage and landscaping with accompanying facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, President Milanovi\u0107 toured Old City Hall that was opened this February following renovations. It will be administered by the Split City Museum. In the company of the director of the Split City Museum Vesna Buli\u0107 Baketi\u0107, President Milanovi\u0107 toured the Council Chamber which is an object of monumental importance, protected within the historic city core on UNESCO\u2019s World Heritage List and an individual protected good. Thanks to the renovation of the Council Chamber, Split has received a contemporary multifunctional area for exhibitions, lectures, small concerts, receptions and other events, and a smaller part is dedicated to a permanent exhibit featuring the Council Chamber throughout history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
