The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 attended today the opening of a unique museum dedicated to the tie, the \u201cCravaticum \u2013 Museum Boutique of the Cravat\u201c located in Tomi\u0107 street in Zagreb. He wished the founders of the Museum that it will grow into a good and serious business venture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are the only ones who claim a legitimate right to the authorship and to the historical ownership of that small, but so significant fashion accessory that is tied in hundreds of knots and which is so important that it has been accepted by some cultures that have no connection with Europe, such as the Japanese and the Chinese who wore the first tie a hundred years ago \u201c, President Milanovi\u0107 stated in his address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI wish this to be a success story because it is a business venture. I wish that it grow into a good and serious business venture, I wish that people come here and that we \u201csell\u201d them a well-intentioned, nice, human and social story about how Croats take credit for the tie\u201d, the President said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also speaking about the significance of the Museum of the Cravat at the opening and how it will contribute to the promotion of the Croatian cultural identity worldwide apart from President Milanovi\u0107 was the director of the \u201cCravaticum \u2013 Museum Boutique of the Cravat\u201c Igor Mladinovi\u0107, and curator, museologist and co-owner Darko Dovedan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the opening ceremony, President Milanovi\u0107 toured the Museum of the Cravat under the professional guidance of the curator Darka Dovedana. The Museum was designed as a multimedia museum where the artistic works of contemporary artists on the theme of the tie represent just one segment of its rich collection. The historical development of the tie is depicted in a modern way, and in a 130 square-metre area visitors encounter an artistic approach to the interior design as well as multiple interactive and unexpected exhibits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside President Milanovi\u0107a was the Adviser to the President for Human Rights and Civil Society Melita Muli\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
