Roko Farka\u0161 won the long jump with a leap of 8.17 meters, breaking a 38-year-old national record. Both Jana Ko\u0161\u010dak and Roko Farka\u0161 are members of the \u201cSloboda\u201d Athletics Club from Vara\u017edin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also present at the meeting in the Office of the President were Club President Stjepan Smernjak, the club coach and Jana\u2019s father Patrik Ko\u0161\u010dak, Esad Garibovi\u0107 from the Union of Sports Associations of the town of Vara\u017edin, and the Mayor of Vara\u017edin Neven Bosilj. Representatives of the \u201cSloboda\u201d Athletics Club highlighted the remarkable success of the young Vara\u017edin athletes, noting that out of the twelve Croats who competed at the World Championships in Lima, five were from Vara\u017edin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Patrik Ko\u0161\u010dak, the coach of the \u201cSloboda\u201d Athletics Club, stated that Croatia can be proud of its athletics achievements, as it ranks second in Europe for success and results. Globally, Croatia is behind only eight countries, including the USA, Jamaica, and Kenya \u2013 traditional athletic powerhouses. The meeting also addressed the training conditions for young athletes in Vara\u017edin. The Mayor of Vara\u017edin announced plans to replace the stadium\u2019s athletic track, which is in very poor condition, to better support their training needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Congratulating Jana and Roko on their gold medals in athletics, President Milanovi\u0107 remarked that their achievement is a significant success for both Vara\u017edin and Croatia.
