The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107, who is on a working visit today to the town of Krk and the town of Cres, met with leaders of the local island authorities. During the meeting in Krk, he spoke with the Mayor of Krk, Darijo Vasili\u0107; the Head of Omi\u0161alj Municipality, Mirela Ahmetovi\u0107; the Head of Punat Municipality, Daniel Str\u010di\u0107; the Head of Dobrinj Municipality, Neven Komadina; and the Head of Malinska-Duba\u0161nica Municipality, Robert Anton Kralji\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the meeting held at the Krk Town Hall, President Milanovi\u0107 was briefed on development projects being jointly implemented across the entire island, and discussions were held on topics of critical importance to the island of Krk and its residents. In addition to local government leaders, the meeting with President Milanovi\u0107 included Nik\u0161a Franov, President of the Town Council of Krk; Council members Vanda Dunato, Milan \u017du\u017ei\u0107, Helga Bendi\u0161 \u017dmiri\u0107, Josip Brusi\u0107, Ariana Stani\u010di\u0107, and Dalibor Pahli\u0107; Neven Hr\u017ei\u0107, Director of the company \u2018Ponikve vode\u2019 Ltd.; Danko Milohni\u0107, Director of the company \u2018Vecle\u2019 Ltd.; Irena \u017dic Orli\u0107, Director of the \u2018Katarina Frankopan\u2019 Kindergarten; Goran Grubi\u0161i\u0107, Commander of the Krk Fire Department; and Vedran Hajdin, Head of the Public Order Division of the town of Krk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After visiting the island of Krk, President Milanovi\u0107 travelled to Cres, where he held a meeting with the Mayor of the town of Cres, Marin Gregorovi\u0107. Also present were Marko Ferlora, Head of the Unified Administrative Department of the town of Cres; \u017deljka Sta\u0161i\u0107, Director of the Cres Tourist Board; and Neven Kruljac, a board member of \u2018Vodoopskrba i odvodnja\u2019 Cres Lo\u0161inj Ltd. and \u2018Komunalne usluge\u2019 Cres Lo\u0161inj Ltd. During the meeting, representatives from the town of Cres presented various projects to President Milanovi\u0107, including the construction of housing for essential workers on the island, addressing youth housing needs, and providing free kindergarten for all children. They also discussed the successes of green tourism on the island and the daily challenges faced by the island\u2019s inhabitants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Milanovi\u0107 was accompanied by Bartol \u0160imuni\u0107, Head of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later today on the island of Mali Lo\u0161inj, President Milanovi\u0107 will attend the opening ceremony of the 34th<\/sup> International Meeting of Winegrowers and Winemakers, Sabatina 2024, where this year\u2019s awards will be presented to the laureates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
