The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 received today members of the Cultural and Artistic Association \u201cMosor\u201d Gata on the occasion of marking 70 years of continuous work. The association was founded in 1954, with the aim of encouraging, developing and advancing the culture and preserving the heritage of Poljica, the town of Omi\u0161 and Croatia as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work of the Cultural and Artistic Association \u201cMosor\u201d Gata is organized into two sections: drama and folklore. In the Office of the President of the Republic, they showcased their talent through a brief stage performance, as well as dance and singing presentations. They performed an excerpt from the play \u201cElection of the Poljica Prince,\u201d a dance piece \u201cGatsko nijemo kolo,\u201d and the song \u201cOj Mosore moj debeli lade,\u201d offering just a glimpse of their extensive and diverse repertoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the performance, the President of the Association, Ante Proso, introduced President Milanovi\u0107 to the Cultural and Artistic Association \u201cMosor\u201d Gata. He explained that the association\u2019s mission is to promote, protect, and preserve the traditions and glorious history of Poljica. While the association has been continuously active since 1954, amateur theatre in Gata dates back to the 1920s, Proso noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to preserving amateur theatre, folklore heritage, traditional dances, stage performances, and other forms of cultural expression within amateur music and theatre, the association places special focus on children and young people. It was emphasized during the meeting that, through song and dance, they aim to instil in children a love for the old customs and the richness of traditional culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the President of the Association, others attending the event in the Office of the President of the Republic included the Secretary of the Association, Tamara Bonomi, Board representatives Marija \u010covi\u0107, \u0110eni \u017duljevi\u0107, Ivan Perdiji\u0107, and Jo\u0161ko Radosti\u0107, as well as members Lucija \u017duljevi\u0107, Klara Jeron\u010di\u0107, Danijela Jeron\u010di\u0107, Anja Mu\u017eini\u0107 Lisica, Tanja Mu\u017eini\u0107 Lisica, Matea Bajami\u0107, Luce \u0160aroli\u0107, Tena Ba\u0161i\u0107, Ivan Mihaljevi\u0107, Petar \u0160ari\u0107, Mate Jeron\u010di\u0107, Mate Kuva\u010di\u0107, Filip Petrovi\u0107, Marko Kuva\u010di\u0107, Ante Petrovi\u0107, Josipa Din\u010di\u0107, Zdravko Proso, Antonela Kri\u017eanac, Dragomir \u010covi\u0107, and Jakov Piv\u010devi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Milanovi\u0107 was accompanied by Zdravko Zima, Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
