The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 received today the authors of the Collection of Papers of the \u201cKing Zvonimir\u201d Scientific Conference. The collection contains ten papers from the symposium held in Knin in June 2022 under the patronage of the President of the Republic and gives new insights into the great Croatian ruler who reigned in Knin at the end of the 11th<\/sup> century. The Collection of Papers \u201cKing Zvonimir\u201d was published by the University of Zagreb and the Knin Public Library, and the promotion was held in February this year in Knin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presenting the Collection of Papers to President Milanovi\u0107, the authors pointed out that the \u201cKing Zvonimir\u201d Symposium was the first scientific conference on King Zvonimir in independent Croatia. The symposium brought together 20 eminent Croatian scientists who discussed various topics such as the situation in Europe during Zvonimir’s time and the situation in the Croatian Kingdom, Zvonimir’s death and \u201cZvonimir’s curse\u201d, and the significance of the capital of the kingdom itself, the city of Knin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the organizer of the Symposium and editor of the \u201cKing Zvonimir\u201d Collection of Papers, the director of the Public Library \u2013 Knin Ivica \u0160imi\u0107, the meeting in the Office of the President of the Republic was attended by the speakers at the Symposium and the editors of the Collection of Papers from the Department of History of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tomislav Galovi\u0107, Prof. Dr. Ivo Goldstein, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvija Pisk and Maja Tabak Demo; from the Department of History of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Basi\u0107; from the Ministry of Culture and Media, Conservation Department in \u0160ibenik, Dr. Marko Sinobad; from the Department of History of Art of the University of Zadar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Josipovi\u0107; reviewers of the papers in the Collection of Papers Dr. Ivan Armanda from The Miroslav Krle\u017ea Institute of Lexicography and Prof. Dr. Hrvoje Kekez from the Department of History of the Croatian Catholic University; speakers at the Symposium, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Antun Neki\u0107 from the Department of History of the University of Zadar and Dr. Maja Petrinec from the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments in Split, and the Mayor of the City of Knin, Marijo \u0106a\u0107i\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside President Milanovi\u0107 were the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Education Jadranka \u017darkovi\u0107 and the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy Neven Pelicari\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
