{"id":37558,"date":"2025-05-13T15:13:48","date_gmt":"2025-05-13T13:13:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=37558"},"modified":"2025-05-13T15:13:49","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T13:13:49","slug":"president-milanovic-meets-with-komedija-theatres-director-and-performers","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/en\/news\/president-milanovic-meets-with-komedija-theatres-director-and-performers\/","title":{"rendered":"President Milanovi\u0107 Meets with Komedija Theatre\u2019s Director and Performers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 met today with the director of the Komedija Theatre in Zagreb, Miljenko Pulji\u0107, and members of the theatre\u2019s acting ensemble: Sandra Bagari\u0107, Mila Elegovi\u0107, Damir Lon\u010dar, and \u0110ani Stipani\u010dev.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founded in 1950 through the merger of the Zagreb Drama Theatre and the Vedri Kerempuh Theatre, the Komedija Theatre is celebrating its 75<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary this year. During the meeting, the discussion focused on the theatre\u2019s rich repertoire \u2013 which includes operettas, musicals, dramatic comedies, and rock operas \u2013 most of which are performed in the historic Franciscan Hall at Kaptol 9, home to the Komedija Theatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was noted that Komedija is the only city theatre in Croatia with a permanent acting and singing ensemble, as well as its own choir, ballet, and orchestra. The theatre occasionally stages larger productions at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall. However, challenges in staging performances were discussed, particularly due to the limited and inadequate space at the Kaptol venue, which is too small for many musical productions. It was also noted that following the 2022 earthquake, the theatre underwent structural renovation, and preparations are currently underway for an energy-efficiency upgrade.
