The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 today received a delegation from the Society \u201cNa\u0161a djeca\u201d (\u201cOur Children\u201d) from Zabok, which, through its creative activities with children, makes a significant contribution to the development of children\u2019s cultural and creative expression, as well as to their informal education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President of the Society \u201cNa\u0161a djeca\u201d Zabok, Sonja Borov\u010dak, introduced President Milanovi\u0107 to the programmes implemented by the Society, highlighting non-institutional upbringing and education programmes for children through projects such as the Children\u2019s Forum, the Children\u2019s City Council, the playroom \u201cKuti\u0107 slikovnica,\u201d the children\u2019s choir \u201cZabo\u010dki mali\u0161ani,\u201d and the KIKI Festival \u2013 an international children\u2019s film festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also presented to President Milanovi\u0107 the PIK PAK project \u2013 a place for children\u2019s participation and activities. This involves the construction of a house in the centre of Zabok \u2013 one that does not yet exist anywhere else in Croatia \u2013 which will be intended for children from across the Croatian Zagorje region, regardless of their socioeconomic status, and will offer them opportunities to engage in various creative and practical workshops, different forms of socialization, play therapy, and learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn all the programmes and projects we implement, children\u2019s participation is paramount, and all programmes are based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child,\u201d said Borov\u010dak, speaking about the activities of the Society \u201cNa\u0161a djeca\u201d from Zabok. President Milanovi\u0107 praised the work of the Society and expressed his support for the project presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the President of the Society \u201cNa\u0161a djeca,\u201d the meeting at the Office of the President was attended by the Children\u2019s Mayor of the town of Zabok, Vida Tisani\u0107; her deputy, Julia Kolar Po\u010dival\u0161ek; the Children\u2019s Mayor\u2019s adviser, Jakov Markovi\u0107; and the Society\u2019s secretary, Jasenka Borov\u010dak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Milanovi\u0107 was accompanied by Jadranka \u017darkovi\u0107, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Education, and Julije Domac, Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Energy and Climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
