I hope this marks the beginning of a decade of success for you and that others will follow in your footsteps,\u201d said President Zoran Milanovi\u0107 today as he presented Croatian alpine skier Zrinka Ljuti\u0107 and her coach Amir Ljuti\u0107 with the Order of the Croatian Star with the effigy of Franjo Bu\u010dar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address, President Milanovi\u0107 congratulated the honourees on their outstanding achievements and expressed his gratitude and admiration for their families and all those who supported them materially and logistically. \u201cI\u2019m glad that your efforts have already borne fruit\u2014and that even greater rewards lie ahead, both personally and financially, for all the time and resources invested by you as a family, the Federation, and the Croatian Olympic Committee. It was uncertain for a time, but in the end, the victories came,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Milanovi\u0107 awarded Zrinka Ljuti\u0107 the Order of the Croatian Star with the effigy of Franjo Bu\u010dar for her exceptional sporting achievement\u2014winning the title of the world\u2019s top slalom skier in the 2024\/2025 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup season\u2014and for her outstanding contribution to promoting sport and enhancing the international standing of the Republic of Croatia. Her coach, Amir Ljuti\u0107, received the same honour, the Order of the Croatian Star with the effigy of Franjo Bu\u010dar, for his many years of dedicated work developing Croatian alpine skiing and for his key role in achieving top results in the 2024\/2025 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expressing her gratitude to the President of the Republic for the decoration, Zrinka Ljuti\u0107 also thanked her team, support staff, the Croatian Olympic Committee, and her family. \u201cI am very proud to represent Croatia at such a high level, and to have brought the Crystal Globe home. I\u2019m hoping for Olympic success next year. I\u2019ll give it my all, and I\u2019m confident that more great results lie ahead,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also attending the ceremony at the Office of the President were Zrinka Ljuti\u0107\u2019s assistant coach Tomislav \u0160ari\u0107; representatives of the Croatian Ski Association including President Miho Glavi\u0107, Secretary General Damir Raos, Honorary President Sre\u010dko Feren\u010dak, Ana Marija Kompari\u0107, Nenad Eror, and Mirna Grozdani\u0107; as well as representatives of the Croatian Olympic Committee, including President Zlatko Mate\u0161a and Secretary General Sini\u0161a Kraja\u010d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Milanovi\u0107 was joined by the Head of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic Bartol \u0160imuni\u0107; Commissioner of the President of the Republic for Sports Tomislav Pa\u0161kvalin; Adviser to the President of the Republic for Defense Ivica Oluji\u0107; Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy Neven Pelicari\u0107; Adviser to the President of the Republic for Human Rights and Civil Society Melita Muli\u0107; Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for the Economy Velibor Ma\u010dki\u0107; and Assistant Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy Ivan Mutavd\u017ei\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
