The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 today welcomed participants of the Central European Diabetes Association (CEDA) Diabetologists\u2019 Congress, ahead of the annual gathering taking place in Zagreb on 12-14 June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Central European Diabetes Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting scientific advancement and fostering collaboration among diabetes associations in Central Europe. Its key activities include annual symposia \u2013 supplemented by smaller events and gatherings \u2013 as well as exchange programmes for young doctors and researchers. These programmes, financially supported by CEDA, aim to build connections, facilitate the exchange of experiences, and promote knowledge-sharing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Dario Raheli\u0107, President of the Croatian Society for Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders, Head of the Vuk Vrhovac University Clinic, and President of the CEDA Congress 2025, briefed President Milanovi\u0107 on the key topics to be addressed at this year\u2019s Congress in Zagreb. These include: obesity and its impact on health, pharmaceutical treatments for obesity, the interplay between psychology and diabetes treatment, the use of artificial intelligence in diagnostics, new therapies for diabetes and liver diseases, rare metabolic disorders, post menopause and blood sugar control, pregnancy and diabetes, insulin resistance, the relationship between diabetes and heart disease, diabetes and dentistry, the link between cancer and diabetes, and kidney disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the meeting, Congress participants shared their perspectives on several of these topics. President Milanovi\u0107 wished them a productive Congress and highlighted the societal importance of the issues they are addressing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
