The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 met today in Kanfanar with representatives of the company \u201cGPI Istra\u201d d.d. and toured the company\u2019s production facility. Afterwards, he visited the exhibitors at the 17th<\/sup> International Prosciutto Fair \u201cISAP 2025\u201d in Tinjan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company \u201cGPI Istra\u201d is a joint-stock company with a long-standing tradition in the production of commercial cardboard packaging. During the meeting with the company\u2019s management, President Milanovi\u0107 was presented with the company\u2019s business results to date and its plans for future activities. Following the meeting, President Milanovi\u0107, accompanied by company director Marko Despot and technical director Ivan \u0160o\u0161i\u0107, toured the production facilities for corrugated paper, cardboard, and paper and cardboard packaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After visiting Kanfanar, President Milanovi\u0107 toured the exhibitors of the 17th<\/sup> International Prosciutto Fair \u201cISAP 2025\u201d in Tinjan. The International Prosciutto Fair ISAP has been held in Tinjan on the third weekend of October since 2006, when the Municipality of Tinjan declared itself the Municipality of Istrian Prosciutto. It is one of the most important tourist and economic events in central Istria, attracting more than 25,000 visitors each year. This year, the organizers decided to proclaim October as the month of the International Prosciutto Fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accompanied by the Fair\u2019s hosts and organizers, Mayor of Tinjan Goran Hrvatin and President of the Municipal Council Igor Antolovi\u0107, President Milanovi\u0107 visited the exhibitors at this year\u2019s International Prosciutto Fair, which is taking place from 17 to 19 October. Around fifty prosciutto producers from all parts of Croatia, as well as from Italy, Slovenia, and Spain, are presenting their products. In addition, other local producers are showcasing their goods \u2013 not only prosciutto makers but also cheesemakers, winemakers, and many others \u2013 offering a wide range of products at the Fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year, plaques and awards are presented to the most successful prosciutto producers for the quality of their products, and the Fair\u2019s champion is proclaimed based on the evaluation of an expert jury composed of members of the Association of Prosciutto Sensory Analysts \u2013 GUSTUS, founded in Tinjan in 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During ISAP, professional conferences, lectures, and presentations are also organized in Tinjan on topics related to the production and valorisation of prosciutto and other traditional local products, as well as ecological production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Milanovi\u0107 was accompanied by the Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for the Economy Velibor Ma\u010dki\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
