{"id":40276,"date":"2025-10-20T14:09:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T12:09:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=40276"},"modified":"2025-10-20T14:09:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T12:09:10","slug":"president-milanovic-receives-delegation-from-the-croatian-logopedic-association","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/en\/news\/president-milanovic-receives-delegation-from-the-croatian-logopedic-association\/","title":{"rendered":"President Milanovi\u0107 Receives Delegation from the Croatian Logopedic Association"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 today received a delegation from the Croatian Logopedic Association, a non-profit association that brings together holders of a master\u2019s degree in speech therapy who work professionally, clinically, and scientifically with individuals with language, speech, and voice communication disorders, hearing impairments, and swallowing disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting was held on the occasion of the 7<sup>th<\/sup> Croatian Logopedics Congress, held from 16 to 19 October in Opatija under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia, on the theme \u201cLogopedic Perspectives: Exchange of Knowledge and Innovation.\u201d This congress, which included international participants, was designed to provide a comprehensive overview and facilitate the exchange of the latest research findings, experiences, and ideas, with the aim of advancing both the scientific and clinical aspects of the logopedic profession. Croatian logopedic congresses have been held every five years since 1984.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the meeting, it was emphasized that the profession of speech therapy is now legally regulated under the Speech Therapy Act, which was passed by the Croatian Parliament on the 15<sup>th<\/sup> of July this year. The association hopes that the new legislation will allow speech therapists to be placed in health centres, thereby improving access to logopedic therapy services through the public health system. It was also highlighted that speech therapists are increasingly being trained at more universities in Croatia, which strengthens the profession\u2019s scientific and professional capacity and helps address the current shortage of speech therapists in the country, noted the President of the Croatian Logopedic Association, Asst. Prof. Karolina Lice, Ph. D.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the President of the association and the Organizing Committee of the 7<sup>th<\/sup> Congress, the meeting at the Office of the President was attended by masters of speech therapy and members of the Organizing Committee: Kristina Maji\u0107, Assoc. Prof. Katarina Pavi\u010di\u0107 Dokoza, Ph. D., Mario Dilberovi\u0107, Ivanka Kara\u010di\u0107, Asst. Prof. Valentina Martan, Ph. D., Prof. Jelena Kuva\u010d Kraljevi\u0107, Ph.
