The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 received today employees and clients of the \u201cEgida\u201d Daily Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy Centre, an institution of social services in Zagreb providing care to adults with intellectual difficulties and associated disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Centre\u2019s director defectologist, Andrea Pelin, acquainted President Milanovi\u0107 with the Centre\u2019s work that has provided services to adults with intellectual difficulties since 2008: full-day stay through psychosocial rehabilitation programmes, work activities, healthcare, kinesitherapy and sports, music therapy, advisory work with clients and their families, support in organizing free time and supported employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At two locations in Zagreb, programmes with clients are carried out by defectologists, occupational therapists, one work instructor, one kinesiologist, one music therapist and one English language teacher with the assistance of external experts and volunteers, the Centre\u2019s director noted, adding that all the Centre\u2019s capacities are presently filled. The Centre\u2019s mission is to maximally stimulate individual abilities and their clients\u2019 potential as well as enable the most quality participation in the lives of their families and community, she underlined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By presenting the abilities and the achievements of their work with clients, the employees of the Centre want to change attitudes in the community and build an atmosphere of tolerance and acceptance. As an example of successful work, the Centre\u2019s clients presented themselves with parts of a play based on the film \u201cTko pjeva zlo ne misli\u201c (Whoever sings does not mean evil) that featured: Josip Lehki, Jelena Gospodari\u0107, Marija Mihaljevi\u0107, Tomislav Leskovar, Ema Belavi\u0107, Karla \u0160imenc, Josip Bla\u017eevi\u0107, Leon Vidosavljevi\u0107, Vrban, Katica Kokotovi\u0107, Petra Vi\u0107an, Ivan Blagus, Hrvoje Sokolaj, Franjo \u0160indler, Dino Mikrut, Ana Ba\u010di\u0107, Domagoj Volf, Zoran Jovani\u0107, Maja Wirnsberger, \u017deljko \u010cavlovi\u0107, Jasmina Hod\u017ei\u0107, Mia Sko\u010di\u0107, Silvio Ilija\u0161 and Tomislav Markovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attending the meeting alongside director Pelin and the Centre\u2019s clients were defectologist Ivan\u010dica Kancir, music therapist Nina Surian, English language teacher Rosemary \u0160andrk, accompanist Ana Luci\u0107, work instructor Davor Caren and student Janko Ore\u0161kovi\u0107. Alongside President Milanovi\u0107 was the Adviser to the President for Education Jadranka \u017darkovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
