President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 today received the delegation of Konj\u0161\u010dina Volunteer Fire Department, which commemorates 100 years of activity this year. Alongside the representatives of the Volunteer Fire Department, the delegation comprised of the Mayor of Konj\u0161\u010dina Municipality Anita Curi\u0161 Krok and the President of the Konj\u0161\u010dina Municipality Council Franjo Barilar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Volunteer Fire Department President Marko Malek-Solgat acquainted President Milanovi\u0107 with the activities regarding the commemoration of one century of voluntary firefighting in Konj\u0161\u010dina. \u201cThis is not only a story about firefighting. We are not just celebrating 100 years of existence, but also 100 years of devotion, bravery, and togetherness. This is a story about people and values passed down from one generation to another to the pride of Konj\u0161\u010dina, whole Zagorje, and entire firefighting community in Croatia,\u201d said Malek-Solgat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Konj\u0161\u010dina Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1926. Today, the VFD has 117 members, 72 of which are active operatives, and 32 of which are young volunteers, which they are especially proud of. Apart from fires, the members of VFD also help people in case of floods and storms. Moreover, they take part in organising public events in the Municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayor Anita Curi\u0161 Krok highlighted the importance of voluntary firefighting, not only for the help they provide to citizens, but also for its tradition and participation in the social life of the community. For this reason, emphasized Mayor Curi\u0161 Krok, the firefighters have and will have full support of the Municipality, which will continue to invest into firefighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from the VFD President and Rapid Intervention Team member Marko Malek-Solgat, the meeting at the Office of the President of the Republic was attended by VFD Konj\u0161\u010dina firefighters: Darko Pazman, Marija Han\u017eek, Karlo Pazman, Dinko Sugneti\u0107, Ira \u0160\u010duri\u0107, Nikola Curi\u0161, Fran Hru\u0161kar, Jasna Gr\u0111an, Ivan Cvetko, Predrag Han\u017eek, and Magdalena Klen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Milanovi\u0107 was accompanied by the Adviser of the President for Human Rights and Civil Society Melita Muli\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
