{"id":4618,"date":"2020-07-17T20:23:00","date_gmt":"2020-07-17T18:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=4618"},"modified":"2020-07-20T11:25:05","modified_gmt":"2020-07-20T09:25:05","slug":"president-milanovic-receives-independent-union-of-research-and-higher-education-delegation","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/en\/news\/president-milanovic-receives-independent-union-of-research-and-higher-education-delegation\/","title":{"rendered":"President Milanovi\u0107 Receives Independent Union of Research and Higher Education Delegation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 received a delegation of the Independent Union of Research and Higher Education&nbsp;that had requested a meeting in order to inform him of the current situation at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The delegation of the Independent Union of Research and Higher Education told the President that the suspension of the dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is inappropriate. They claim that the situation at the Faculty is a consequence of the misuse of the University\u2019s autonomy. They, as a union, got involved in the events at the Faculty in their efforts to defend the system and the administrative procedure at the University. They concluded that, for the system as a whole to be operational, it is necessary to regulate the administrative structure of the University by means of a potential amendment to the Law on research activities and higher education. Comprising the delegation of the Independent Union of Research and Higher Education were: \u00a0Union president\u00a0Prof. Petar Pervan, PhD, \u00a0Great Council\u00a0president Prof. Igor\u00a0Radeka, General Secretary\u00a0Vilim\u00a0Ribi\u0107, the president of the Regional Council of Zagreb Assoc.
