On the occasion of International Day of the Disappeared and the Day of Remembrance of Missing Persons from the Homeland War, the President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 received a delegation of the \u201cSavez udruga obitelji zato\u010denih i nestalih hrvatskih branitelja\u201d (Federation of Associations of Families of Detained and Missing Croatian Defenders).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The delegation informed the President of the Republic about past activities in their quest for the truth about the missing and detained Croatian defenders and civilians. They underlined that the major problem in discovering the truth about the missing and detained Croatian defenders and civilians is the lack of information and facts. They reiterated their dissatisfaction with past cooperation with institutions of the Republic of Serbia in this matter, and therefore requested the help of the President of the Republic in an attempt to improve this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2002 the Republic of Croatia joined the countries that mark International Day of the Disappeared on 30th<\/sup> August and as of this year Croatia is marking the Day of Remembrance of Missing Persons from the Homeland War in memory of all those who have gone missing in war circumstances and whose disappearance is a result of crimes against humanity and other serious violations of human rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Comprising the delegation of the Federation of Associations of Detained and Missing Croatian Defenders were the president of the Federation Ljiljana Alvir, the vice-president of the Federation and president of the Association \u201cHrvatski Feniks\u201d Jasna Jug, the president of the Association \u201cVukovarske majke\u201d Manda Patko, Federation secretary Mirjana Tonkovi\u0107, the coordinator of the Karlovac County Federation Tomislav Kai\u0107, the president of the \u201cUdruga obitelji zato\u010denih i nestalih hrvatskih branitelja Vara\u017edinske \u017eupanije\u201d (Association of Families of Detained and Missing Croatian Defenders of Vara\u017edin County) Dalibor \u0110ur\u0111ek, Federation vice-president and president of the \u201cUdruga nestalih i nasilno odvedenih hrvatskih branitelja Domovinskog rata Osje\u010dko-baranjske \u017eupanije (Association of Missing and Forcibly Detained Croatian Defenders of the Homeland War of Osijek-Baranja County) Ilija Lovri\u0107, Federation members Marija Jambrekovi\u0107, Sandro \u0110ur\u0111ek, Josip Mu\u017eic, administrative employee of the \u201cUdruga djece poginulih i nestalih hrvatskih branitelja Domovinskog rata\u201d (Association of Children of Fallen and Missing Croatian Defenders of the Homeland War) and envoy of Association president Sandra Rap\u010dek Veronika Soldo, and secretary of the \u201cZajednica udruga civilnih stradalnika Domovinskog rata Hrvatske\u201d (Union of Associations of Civilian Victims of the Homeland War of Croatia) Slavica Marinovi\u0107.
