On the occasion of All Saints\u2019 Day, the President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 laid a wreath and lit a candle at the Central Cross in the Alley of Fallen Croatian Defenders at Mirogoj Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After laying a wreath, President Milanovi\u0107 commented on the absence of the Croatian Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, who did not accept his invitation to lay a joint wreath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt didn\u2019t have to turn out like this. We waited until the last moment, aware of how it had been done in previous years. It\u2019s been done like that for the last five years, now all of a sudden it\u2019s not because someone obviously wanted to avoid it now. It\u2019s a pity. The invitation was my initiative, with the expectation that one of them will respond. I didn\u2019t get a response, that\u2019s no way of doing business seriously. It\u2019s a pity,\u201d said President Milanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, the President of the Republic invited Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovi\u0107 and Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandrokovi\u0107 to jointly lay a wreath, which is customary on public holidays, since no proposal for a joint wreath-laying from the Government of the Republic of Croatia or the Croatian Parliament had arrived by then. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
