{"id":6679,"date":"2020-11-12T15:36:39","date_gmt":"2020-11-12T14:36:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=6679"},"modified":"2020-11-12T15:36:40","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T14:36:40","slug":"president-milanovic-endorses-call-by-croatia-against-cancer-initiative-for-adoption-of-national-strategic-framework-against-cancer","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/en\/news\/president-milanovic-endorses-call-by-croatia-against-cancer-initiative-for-adoption-of-national-strategic-framework-against-cancer\/","title":{"rendered":"President Milanovi\u0107 Endorses Call by \u201cCroatia Against Cancer\u201d Initiative for Adoption of National Strategic Framework Against Cancer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 spoke with representatives of the \u201cCroatia Against Cancer\u201d initiative, which consists of associations of cancer patients that the President invited to his Office to learn about the reasons behind the launch of the initiative and about the problems cancer patients face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representatives of the \u201cCroatia Against Cancer\u201d initiative explained that Croatia is the only EU Member State that still does not have a strategy to fight cancer and they pointed out to President Milanovi\u0107 the need for the urgent adoption of the National Strategic Framework Against Cancer. In order to improve treatment outcomes and ensure the rights of patients guaranteed by the Constitution, the National Strategic Framework Against Cancer would provide a model of a genuine and much-needed health care reform that Croatia already should have implemented, it was mentioned at the meeting.
