The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 is on a visit to Sisak-Moslavina County. After his stay in Sisak, the President visited the family-owned business \u201cSunce\u201d in Nebojan, specializing in the production of homemade traditional cakes. At the \u201cPukovnik Predrag Matanovi\u0107\u201d barracks in Petrinja, the President held a meeting with the heads of the National Civil Protection Authority involved in post-earthquake reconstruction, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Croatian Veterans Tomo Medved and Deputy Prime Minister Boris Milo\u0161evi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After meeting with the heads of the National Civil Protection Authority, President Milanovi\u0107 said in a statement to the media that he could not predict the dynamics of the reconstruction effort. \u201cI can\u2019t predict the exact speed, but I see that a lot is being done and that some things are being corrected along the way,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that from the beginning, he showed understanding for the situation in which all those participating in the reconstruction effort found themselves in. \u201cThey have been doing this for days, for weeks, and I think they needed to be supported here. I think this is for the most part being done correctly. Of course, there will always be anger one morning or afternoon because someone didn\u2019t receive something, but ultimately they will receive it,\u201d said President Milanovi\u0107.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on his meeting with the representatives of the National Civil Protection Authority involved in post-earthquake reconstruction, President Milanovi\u0107 said they had briefed him in detail about the things he had not been aware of or about new occurrences after the earthquake, including the sinkholes that have emerged as a big problem. \u201cThis is dangerous for people. I see that individuals under whose responsibility this lies are working on it \u2013 the National Civil Protection Authority, the Croatian army, and not just the army but a much wider circle of people. Therefore, politics and quarrels aside, this is a major joint effort and another test,\u201d said the President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
