{"id":9376,"date":"2021-05-13T18:28:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-13T16:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=9376"},"modified":"2021-05-14T10:30:21","modified_gmt":"2021-05-14T08:30:21","slug":"president-milanovic-visits-business-zone-east-in-cakovec","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.predsjednik.hr\/en\/news\/president-milanovic-visits-business-zone-east-in-cakovec\/","title":{"rendered":"President Milanovi\u0107 Visits Business Zone East in \u010cakovec"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovi\u0107 visited the City of \u010cakovec and toured Me\u0111imurje Business Park \u2013 Business Zone East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the company of mayor Stjepan Kova\u010d and deputy mayors Mario Medved and Zoran Vidovi\u0107, President Milanovi\u0107 toured the northern part of Business Zone \u010cakovec East in the Me\u0111imurje Business Park where a construction project of basic joint infrastructure is under way. With the construction of the joint infrastructure preconditions will be met for improving the operation of small and medium-sized enterprises. Thus the attractiveness of the Zone\u2019s location will further be enhanced, new investors will be attracted and opportunities for new job openings will be created, City officials noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts designated 10 million HRK in non-refundable grants, which is 80% of the project\u2019s total value, and the contract was negotiated in June 2019. The project\u2019s total value is 12,407,676.56 HRK, and is co-financed on the basis of the Contract on Allocation of Non-Refundable Grants for projects financed by European Structural and Investment Funds in the 2014-2020 financial period. Thanks to the development of the infrastructure, 18 construction plots will be ready for investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his statement to the media after the visit to the business zone, President Milanovi\u0107 commented on the functioning of the local self-government. \u201cI don\u2019t think that the number of municipalities is the main Croatian issue. There are cities and municipalities that can operate independently, some can\u2019t. There are cities and municipalities that are rich such as those on the coast. In general, Croatia\u2019s structure is sustainable and has to be improved\u201d, the President of the Republic noted. Asked by reporters why people are leaving Croatia, the President said that one of the reasons is the fact that people have the possibility to go work abroad. \u201cWe can\u2019t resent people for struggling for a better life.
