The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović attended the opening of the 25th edition of an event of authentic creativity entitled “Raspjevana Cvelferija“ in the village of Rajevo Selo. It is a traditional folklore and cultural event founded in 1990 with the aim of preserving and promoting the dances and heritage of nine villages located in the region along the Sava River near the town of Županja.

“Preserve what you have here. You don’t surrender, you withstand everything, you work and persevere, and your community looks better than before”, President Milanović said at the opening of the cultural event. He told the residents of Rajevo Selo to preserve the name of “Cvelferija”. Few people in Croatia know the name “Cvelferija” exists and what it stands for, that honest and hardworking people live here who just want to have the same opportunity as all the other citizens of Croatia. The Croatian state must ensure this as much as possible to you, and as for the rest, you’ll have to manage yourselves”, President Milanović said in Rajevo Selo.

Prior to the opening of “Raspjevana Cvelferija“, the President of the Republic viewed a photo exhibition of military-border patrols “Čuvali smo granicu na Savu“ (We Guarded the Sava Border). Alongside President Milanović was the Adviser for Human Rights and Civil Society Melita Mulić.
