President Milanović to Participate in Meeting of EU Heads of State in Rome
At the invitation of the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, the President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović will participate in the 16th Informal Meeting of the Arraiolos Group on Wednesday, 15 September 2021 in Rome, Italy.
The Presidents of Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, Estonia, Ireland, Latvia, Malta, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Finland, Germany and host country Italy will gather at the Quirinale Palace in Rome. Named after the Portuguese town where the group first met in 2003, the Arraiolos Group is an annual informal meeting of the Presidents of EU Member States where traditionally the Presidents whose duties do not include executive functions participate and discuss important European issues.
The Presidents of EU Member States will discuss current European issues at the 16th Meeting of the Arraiolos Group, in particular the responsibilities and opportunities of the EU on the path to strategic autonomy and EU’s contribution to multilateralism in the post-pandemic world.
While in Rome, the President of the Republic is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic of Malta George Vella.
