President Milanović Tours Autumn Scout Games in Osijek

In Osijek the President of the Republic Zoran Milanović visited the Autumn Scout Games for the 6-11 Age Group (Poletarci) of the Eastern Region, the national activities of Scouts Croatia held each year in autumn in five scouting regions of Croatia.

Thanking the scouts for inviting him to open the games, President Milanović told them to be perseverant and not give up. “You will get your feet wet, you will get blisters, but you are stronger than that, have fun”, he said and congratulated all the leaders of the “Poletarci” for their efforts in this great activity.

The organizer of the event is Scout Club “Javor” of Osijek. Eleven teams including approximately 130 pupils from lower elementary school grades took part in the games with the assistance of about thirty volunteers. With this event the scouts encourage children to enhance their independence and abilities to take care of themselves and others, and to respect moral values.
