Presidents Milanović and Pahor at Joint Unveiling of Gaj Monument in Ljubljana and Prešeren Monument in Zagreb
On Monday, 18 October the President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović and the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor will attend the unveiling of the monument to the Croatian poet Ljudevit Gaj in Ljubljana and afterwards the unveiling of the monument to the Slovenian poet France Prešeren in Zagreb.
President Milanović will visit Ljubljana, Slovenia, on Monday, 18 October where he will unveil, together with his Slovenian counterpart President Pahor, a monument to the Croatian politician, linguist, ideologue, journalist and writer Ljudevit Gaj. The monument to Ljudevit Gaj will be erected in Ljubljana’s North City Park. After the unveiling ceremony, the two Presidents will deliver addresses.
On the same day, the President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović and the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor will attend the unveiling of the monument to the Slovenian poet France Prešeren in Zagreb. The monument to the Slovenian poet Prešeren will be erected in Zagreb’s Bundek Park. The two Presidents will give addresses at the unveiling ceremony.
Apart from the two Presidents, representatives of the municipal authorities of Ljubljana and Zagreb and the initiators of the monuments’ unveiling – the Association of Croatian Societies in the Republic of Slovenia and the Slovenian Home in Zagreb – will also take part in the unveiling ceremony.
