President Milanović at 30th Anniversary Commemoration of Fall of Defense of Neighbourhood of Lužac
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović attended a commemoration observing the 30th anniversary of the fall of Vukovar’s neighbourhood of Lužac and the massacre of its residents. By laying a wreath at the Memorial in Lužac, President Milanović paid tribute to the 69 massacred and missing residents during the defense and the occupation of the neighbourhood.
By occupying this part of Vukovar, the Serbian aggressor managed to cut the communication line between the defenders in the centre of Vukovar and those in Borovo naselje and therefore the occupation of Lužac is considered to be the start of the fall of the defense of Vukovar.
Alongside President Milanović was the Special Adviser for Homeland War Veterans Marijan Mareković.
