President Milanović Participant in Panel “What Does the President Read?“
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović took part in a panel entitled “What Does the President Read?” in the “Bogdan Ogrizović” library and reading room in Zagreb, which was held in the scope of the “Month of the Croatian Book” event.
The “Month of the Croatian Book” event, held from 15 October to 15 November each year, attempts to highlight books and reading. Through a variety of programmes presented in libraries throughout Croatia, the importance of books is stressed as well as of libraries as public and free meeting places for residents.
Furthermore, the year 2021 was proclaimed the “Year of Reading in Croatia”. Throughout the year new activities were designed and presented which contribute to the affirmation of reading because, during the pandemic and reduced possibilities of organizing and participating in habitual cultural events, reading was one of the cultural events that could gain more attention and time in these circumstances.
Alongside President Milanović were the Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Culture and the Adviser to the President for Education Jadranka Žarković.
