President Milanović Meets with Croatian Academy of Architecture Arts and Sciences Delegation
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović held a meeting today in his Office with a delegation of the Croatian Academy of Architecture Arts and Sciences composed of its President Academician Andrija Mutnjaković, member Bojan Bilić and Secretary General Borka Bobovec.
The delegation of the Academy briefed President Milanović at the meeting about their activities, which include the promotion and presentation of national cultural assets primarily through publishing expert and science literature. The delegation also said that the Academy seeks to raise public awareness about spatial problems and that it intends to do so through science and expert seminars.
The Croatian Academy of Architecture Arts and Sciences was founded in 2019 and its activities are aimed at architectural and urban projects of national importance. The Academy’s work is aimed at the promotion of Croatia’s architecture to the international community and at space management, the delegation explained. The members of the Academy warned that Croatia’s architecture practically does not exist as a topic in international relevant scientific publications, regardless of its architectural monuments such as Diocletian’s Palace, the Old Town of Dubrovnik, the castles of Zrinski and Frankopan, the Arena in Pula, etc. They also said they seek to present and brand Croatia through its architecture.
Adviser to the President of the Republic for Education Jadranka Žarković and Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Culture Zdravko Zima attended the meeting alongside President Milanović.
